Hello NAWA PA Members,

- Please take note of the following opportunity -

The Fox Clark Gallery
Upcoming Events: Westsylvania Open Arts Show and Indiana PA, Paint Out and Wet Sale

Two exciting events are coming to The Fox Clark Gallery in the next few months: The Westsylvania Open Arts Show and the Indiana, PA Paint Out and Wet Sale! We’re excited to offer these opportunities to the community and hope you’ll plan to attend and/or participate! Mark your calendars and follow us on Facebook and Instagram for the latest updates!

Westsylvania Open Arts Show

The inaugural Westsylvania Arts Festival will include an exciting new exhibit opportunity—the Westsylvania Arts Festival Open Arts Show!

The show is open to all artists and artisans.  Entry is not juried.  However, it will be judged for cash and merit awards, including purchase awards.  The show will be held as a pop-up event at two top Indiana art galleries—The Fox Clark Gallery and The Artists Hand Gallery—over the festival weekend.  Anyone may enter up to five pieces for only $25.  With exposure to approximately 1,500 potential buyers during the weekend festivities, this is an excellent opportunity for artists to show and possibly sell their work.  Even better, any sales are commission free—all proceeds go to the artist!

The Westsylvania Arts Festival is happening in conjunction with the well-established Delaney Chevrolet Westsylvania Jazz & Blues Festival.  The music festival attracts at least 1,500 people to downtown Indiana for the event, providing top quality performances by local, national and internationally known musicians.  It’s a big deal!  These companion art and music festivals are being held jointly under the auspices of the Indiana Arts Council.

Together, they are being billed as Westsylvania Weekend—“the kickoff to summer’s fun!”  Dates of the Westsylvania Arts Festival Open Arts Show are Thursday, May 22nd—Saturday, May 24th, 2025.

Take advantage of this opportunity to show your best work to a festival crowd, maybe win an award, maybe even sell some artwork commission free! And it’ll only cost you $25 to enter up to five pieces. It doesn’t get any better than this!

Questions may be directed to the Indiana Arts Council at IAC.artsfest@gmail.com. We want the entry process to be easy and clear and we want this show to be a positive experience for all involved. Please let us know if you have questions—we want to hear from you!

Art show guidelines, entry form with labels and online registration (including online PayPal payment) are available here:

Hello NAWA PA Members,

The following opportunity has been extended to NAWA PA artists from Artist and Author Fran Gardner

A special invitation for those who were present at the December 2 NAWA PA meeting

from Artist & Author Fran Gardner

Understanding your art is like cracking a code. What is on the surface is where we start but really understanding what you are making, why, and the messages that it sends into the world is much deeper and more complex than any single painting. Remember Raiders of the Lost Ark? Indiana Jones finds an artifact, studies the object, thinks through the context of where it was found, creates theories and tests them out, all the while guessing and second guessing his findings. He also seeks help and makes profound discoveries about the artifacts and himself along the way.

Our art is much like this. We have to crack the code of it, and you are the only one that can do it. No one is better equipped than you to go on the deep adventure of your own work. Understanding your art takes study, thought, finding clues, guessing, second guessing. Creating and testing theories. Gathering information until it clicks. Until it makes sense. And, all of that requires support!

Let’s go on an exploration of your work. Let’s see what messages it can uncover. And let’s see if that is the very discovery that can take you to even richer, more meaningful, heartfelt art making.

I am so excited to offer you a special spot in my new “Mysteries and Messages of Your Art” online course!

This 5-week online class is for artists who have developed bodies of work, who are searching for a deeper understanding of what they are making and why they are makers. It is for those who are seeking direction in their work.

This class meets every Tuesday from 10:00am-12:00pm ET beginning January 28, 2025 and ending on February 25, 2025.

Sign up by December 15, 2024 for the early bird price of $500

Click the link to submit payment and secure your spot: https://venmo.com/u/Fran-Gardner

After December 15th, the price increases to $650. This is your only chance to get this online course and deep support from me at this rate!

Here is What You Need to prepare for the course:

  • Stable internet connection. I’ll send a Zoom link when you register and you’ll use that same link to sign in for every class.

  • An Instagram account. I’ll set up a private Instagram group where we can share our art and our discoveries between class meetings.

  • Something to write with. You can use a paper journal, sketchbook, notebook or computer. Whatever you feel most comfortable with.

  • Pictures or original pieces of your most recent body of work, and access to pictures from your work over time.

Click the link, select “pay,” then enter $500 to submit payment and secure your spot. Spots are limited!

https://venmo.com/u/Fran-Gardner

I can’t wait to explore the Mysteries and Messages of Your Art with you!
